A few videos circulated in the media earlier today of enforcement officials shooting at the tyres of a vehicle at an intersection in Cape Town. Intelligence Bureau SA has since shared more insights on this incident. We quote from their page:

“Montague Gardens, Cape Town – Suspect failed to stop for CPT Metro Officials in a fully branded vehicle yesterday, the suspects were blocked in by the officials but the suspect then drove into the state vehicle.

Officers demanded that the suspect stops immediately after crashing to the state vehicle but refused & drove off, several gunshots were fired by the officers while the suspect fled.

A short chase ensued and the suspect drove into an underground parking area (doors were closed). The suspect managed to flee, vehicle recovered.

The suspects’ apartment was searched & drugs were found.”
