Patients looking for health insurance on the individual market in metro Denver and Boulder County will have a couple of options that include UCHealth, CU Medicine and other affiliated providers in-network.

Open enrollment begins Nov. 1 on Connect for Health Colorado, the state’s health insurance exchange and people will be able to choose from a variety of plans for 2023.

Individuals who live in metro Denver and Boulder County can choose from two plans on the exchange for the 2023 plan year that include UCHealth and CU Medicine:

  • The Anthem Pathway will be available during open enrollment and will include UCHealth, CU Medicine and other affiliates in-network.
  • The Anthem Pathway Colorado Option Gold will also be available during open enrollment and will include UCHealth, CU Medicine and other affiliates in-network.

Patients in metro Denver who previously had Oscar Partners Choice Network can choose either Anthem Pathway or Anthem Pathway Colorado Option Gold to continue their in-network care with UCHealth. It is important to note that Anthem Pathway Essentials is out of network for UCHealth.

“Connect for Health Colorado allows individuals to search for their physician or health care location to ensure the plan they choose includes the provider and location in-network,” said Dr. Peg Reidy, UCHealth’s chief medical officer. “We believe patients should have a choice in where they receive their care and should be able to continue seeing their trusted medical team.”

For patients who live outside metro Denver/Boulder County, Anthem Pathway and Anthem Pathway Colorado Option (all levels) include UCHealth in-network.

There are a few additional plans that include select UCHealth locations and providers in-network:

  • In Colorado Springs and Woodland Park, Cigna Connect, Cigna Connect Colorado Option and Kaiser KP Select include UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central, UCHealth Grandview Hospital and UCHealth Pikes Pike Regional Hospital in network.
  • In Fort Collins, Loveland and Greeley, Cigna Connect and Cigna Connect Colorado Option include UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies, UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital and UCHealth Greeley Hospital in network.

Open enrollment runs from Nov. 1, 2022, to Jan. 15, 2023, and plans have effective dates of Jan. 1 or later. The Connect for Health Colorado site can help individuals and families compare different health insurance plans and determine whether they qualify for financial assistance.
